The aim of this conference is to explore some of the complex and challenging issues that are linked to the ethical, legal and social issues related to biobanking. Among others, abstracts linked to following topics can be submitted:  
  • Governance aspects of biobanking
  • Biobanking and regulation
  • Informed consent procedure and biobanking
  • Confidentiality and privacy related to biobanking
  • Returning information to participants
  • Population biobanks
  • Forensic DNA-databases
  • Commercial biobanks
  • …
Abstracts should be submitted before February 15 2009. Information on acceptance will be provided very shortly after the deadline. Please use following format for submitting your abstract. Send your abstract by e-mail to Pascal.Borry@med.kuleuven.be 

A conference book will be elaborated. Some authors who have submitted an abstract might be invited to elaborate a manuscript for that book.
