International Conference 18-20 May 2008
Intro * Call for abstracts *New Challenges for Biobanks. Ethics, Law and Governance
On 18, 19 and 20 May 2009 the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law (K.U.Leuven, Belgium) will host the international conference 'New Challenges for Biobanks. Ethics, Law and Governance.' This conference is organised by the international research project GeneBanC, which is funded by the E.U.
During this conference experts will come together to discuss ethical, legal and governance issues related to biobanking. Among others the ethical and policy issues about the creation and organisation of the biobanks, the methods of obtaining and using samples and their related information, issues related to informed consent, privacy and confidentiality will be analysed.
The international conference will start on Monday 18 May 2009 at 14h and will end on Tuesday 19 May 2009 at 18h. On Wednesday 20 May 2009 (from 10h to 16h) an interactive stakeholder meeting is planned to discuss ethical, legal and governance issues related to biobanks.
We invite you to submit an abstract for the conference or to enroll for the conference after having seen the programme of the conference and the venue.
